Melanie Levine is a Manager within the Food & Agriculture Pathway at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and is based in Chicago. In this capacity she collaborates with food and agribusiness companies across the value chain on initiatives related to food systems transformation, including sustainable and healthy diets. As a part of this work, she leads WBCSD’s activities on Plant-forward Foods and Positive Consumption.
Melanie recently relocated to the US from Singapore, where she worked with WBCSD for three years, and also served as a Committee Member with Women in Agribusiness Asia (WOMAG) and a part-time lecturer on agricultural commodity markets at Nanyang Technological University.
She previously worked with the United Nations World Food Program in Cambodia, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the World Cocoa Foundation, and a US government contractor, Dexis Consulting Group.
Melanie holds a master’s degree in public affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in government and sociology from the College of William and Mary.
